Overview
I led design for Spotify mobile home with a focus on growth and activation. Throughout this time, we ran multiple experiments to learn how we can provide new users with a better experience in their first 14 days upon signing up with Spotify. The goal was to fulfil Home as a destination for users to find content they are familiar with and discover new content that they like. 

The learnings from the experiments were shaped into products such as obtaining the user's music taste and generating a personalised experience from the get go.

Taste Onboarding
 


Overview
By capturing the user’s preferred music artists or genre via onboarding, we will be able to provide personalised recommendations to new Spotify users, which thus enable them to have a better listening session from the get go.

Process
We user tested about 5-6 iterations of different interaction models. With each iteration, we used the learnings to inform the next design with the focus on ease of use and eliminating confusion towards task completion.

Spotify

Queue 2.0
 


Overview
With the launch of Spotify Party, we needed a play queue that would not only serve the purpose of multi-user collaboration but also to keep the platform interaction patterns consistent.

Process
On this project, i collaborated with the design lead for Spotify Party. My main responsibility was to oversee the redesign of the queue from a platform perspective, ensuring that the new design works cohesively across different user scenarios.

Artist Insights

Overview
The Artist Insights Dashboard was created with the aim of providing artists and managers with better insights to understand their audience and performance on Spotify

Process
The project was first kickstarted in Stockholm before being handed over to the New York team. During it's intial stages, we were tasked to explore the different product directions. We came up with 3 product hypotheses that were intially prepared for both qualitative and quantitative tests. We were also tasked to produce a MVP that would validate the value hypothesis this product would have for artists and their managers.

Spotify

Redesign 2014

Overview
Prior to 2014, the overall Spotify experience was not cohesive across devices. We needed a design language to align us across all platforms. From the Spotify brand down to it's product.

Process
I was part of the core team that redesigned Spotify's visual design language across all platforms.

My main focus was on the keyboard & mouse platforms, namely the Desktop client and the Web player. I was involved from defining the grid system down to designing the visual components for the platform.
